Insurer Number Changes
INSURER NUMBER CHANGES – RESCINDED
RETRACTION OF INSURER NUMBER CHANGES, SURPLUS LINES INSURERS LIST & SUPPLEMENTAL LIST
In December 2012, you were informed of a pending change to insurer identifying numbers, caused by a revision to the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) numbering system. After careful review of the proposed numbering changes, we have identified numerous issues that prevent us from making the expected changes. The primary problem is the duplication of several hundred numbers assigned to insurers and/or syndicates. As a result, the Stamping Office will not convert the insurer numbers or the syndicate numbers currently being utilized in the Electronic Filing System (EFS). Instead, the existing insurer numbers will continue to be used. The Surplus Lines Insurers List shown on SLSOT’s website will continue to reflect these numbers as well.
This will not impact agents/agencies who file using web entry — you should continue to select the appropriate Company name from the Lookup window.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
