Agent Licensing Exams Available in Texas
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) provides information on testing sites for Texas agent and adjuster licenses. To find a test center, make a reservation, and have access to study materials, individuals can visit Pearson VUE. Agents can also take the Texas Department of Insurance exam from home through OnVUE online proctoring. A live proctor will monitor through the webcam on individual workstation to provide a secure exam experience.
Watch the short video on the Texas Department of Insurance online proctoring page to see how convenient it is to test from home or work.
Agents and brokers who pass licensing exams but still need to have a fingerprint background check can apply for a temporary license. Once fingerprints are received by TDI, a regular license will be issued to replace the temporary license.
For more information on temporary licensing changes, and other Agent and Adjuster Licensing Information, TDI has created a list of frequently asked questions for Texas agents.
