Surplus Lines Rule Update: Informal rules posted

Austin, Texas – Today, the Texas Department of Insurance posted new rules for Title 28 Texas Administrative Code Ch. 15. These rules implement surplus lines law found in Texas Insurance Code Chapter 981 and 225. The rules are now published for public comment. All comments for the informal rule posting are due by 5 p.m., Central time, August 22, 2016. SLSOT will be proactive in reviewing these rules for consistency and practical implementation of the law which aims to modernize the amendments to chapter 981 and 225 through the 83rd legislative session.
